"I think that your decision to reduce MS branding is correct. As a matter of fact I would remove MS branding altogether. It simply doesn't make any sense to have MS branding on a Linux distro. However you shouldn't remove Cotton's ability to mimic Windows 8. What makes Cotton so likeable and attractive resides in its Windows-mimetic nature. Just my opinion. I've been looking for a distro like Cotton for a long time. Congratulations for making such a great distro. I would really like you to keep it going."

"Hey, I took the plunge and I am happily dual-booting Mint17 and Cotton. I love it already, managed to install the Nvidia driver for my card and I am one happy chap at the moment. I much prefer it over Mint Cinnamon. Looks like this might be my preferred distro for a while, but in the Linux world, there's always something new and exciting. But great job, can't do much other than change to my preferred background. Otherwise, cool!"

"Here are some suggestions regarding future Cotton releases: 1. The applications in the 32-bit should also be present in the 62-bit release. 2. Windows branding (logos) should be replaced by Cotton branding. 3. Anything except Windows branding should be virtually undistinguishable from wind 8. 4. It is OK for Cotton to have a theme/style or whatever of its own as default but should also be capable to switch to clone mode whenever so desired. 5. That whatever black shortcut bar from the right should be kept at all costs. 6. Please forgive my kinda do this-do that style as it was not intended to be offensive at all. 7. I am an admirer of your work and looking forward to see the next release(s). 8. Cotton is a joy for me and many more. 9. Cotton is important. 10. Cotton makes a difference."

"Seems to be a really great and thought out OS.
Thank you very much!"

" Guys, this system, besides violates M$ copyright (logos and art), is that we called ReFiSeFuQui (portuguese for Weekend and Backyard remaster). Will you provide technical assistence to your users when they have a big issue with your system? Will you use your own repositories and program or just suck brandwidth from Canonical's servers? We don't need more one distro! It's better create a repository with your art. Cheers"

"Just to say I think your ditro is great. I love the look amd mimic of windows and your distro works great. Thought I would encourage you in the hope that other find your superb disto."

"1. It is a fine thing that you're trying to build Cotton a personality of its own (theme, logo, artwork and all). That should be the default. 2. Cotton should also be capable to switch to clone (or chameleon) mode whenever the user so desires. By that I mean as close to Windows 8 as possible, except MS logo, which has no place in a Linux distro. 3. The apps in the 32 bit should be in the 64 bit version as well. 4. KWin should be kept. 5. Charm Bar should be kept (in default Cotton mode as well). 6. Whisker Menu should pe updated to latest (reasons are obvious). 7. Further visual refinements should be considered (e.g. shut down button doesn't scale nicely in window manager; should think about vector graphics). 8. Should post some news. Haven't heard from you for more than 7 months. 9. Should keep Cotton alive. It has tremendous potential. THANK YOU FOR COTTON!"

" I try this new distro (new for me, find at distrowatch upcoming release) and after five mintues testing install them. work like charm. for me better and faster than linux lite 2.0 , and many others distros. and ofcourse very beautifle.... sorry for bad english !!! thanks "

" Hi ! I discovered your distro an I am amazed. I'm looking for something like that for a long time. What you did is the best Windows-like Linux distro I've ever seen. Much better than Zorin. Not only good lookin', but running great. Just, a big disapointement : it was made only for 64 bit machines. Can you, please, make a 32 bit version, ASAP? Maybe with an Office Suite like WPS, preinstalled. I have a few reasons for askin' that. One of them is regarding school computers (schools don't have all the time enough funds to buy the newest computers), on wich I'd like to instal this distro, to demonstrate the Linux advantages, but keeping a familiar environment. Thank you so much for your work. "
